In this time, i would like to tell you about my field trip in Bali. I went there almost two years ago along with other sixty-nine students from english education program. The participants of the tour are 70 students of English Education, 4 lecturers, 3 tour leaders, and 2 drivers. We started our tour in the dawn of November 4, 2013 at 1 a.m. and ended at November 8, in the early morning at 5 a.m. We spent 3 days and 2 nights for our tour in Bali.
Our tour was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 5 November 2013 and ended on Friday, 8 November 2013. We planned a tour for 3 days and 2 nights. We gathered in the gate of Jember University at the double way in Kalimantan Street at 11 p.m WIB. Because of some excuses, our planned depart schedule at midnight was delayed into 1 am in the morning. We went to Bali by two Akas 4 bus together with 4 lecturers Mrs. Siti Sundari, Mrs. Eka Wahyuningsih, Miss Rika, and Miss. Santi. The travel agent that led us to go to Bali is Dunia Wisata. The travel agent provide a pillow and blanket on ever seat. They also provided mineral water for all students but medicine were handled by students who was in charge, like minyak kayu putih ans antimo to prevent carsick. Before we start our tour, we do some preparation such as: Check in the participants, briefing, and praying.
Our tour leader had reserved a hotel for us in Bali, that is The Mahajaya Tower Hotel that was located in HOS Cokroaminoto Street, 63 Denpasar, Bali. It is near Ubud station. The Mahajaya Tower Hotel & Restaurant located in the center of Denpasar City. Our committee had set the room coordination and the roommate before. A room was for 4 students and 2 rooms for 4 lecturers. The hotel was quite a big hotel. It consists of a big restaurant, smoking area, lobby, outdoor pool, and complete facilities in each room such as TV, shower, towel, water, AC, etc. We were check in for the first time at Tuesday afternoon at 7 p.m. and check out at Thursday morning at 8 a.m. We stayed there during our 2 nights in Bali, and we had a lot of fun there.
Tanjung Benoa was our first destination on our first day in Bali. We arrived there at 10 a.m. It takes place in Tanjung Benoa District, Badung Regency. It consumed time about 40 minutes from our Hotel in Mahajaya Tower nearby Ubung terminal.
This beach is a water tourism destination which has almost complete facilitate. It is “the one” beach in Bali which offer some water sports adventure. We can try those, such as: Scuba Diving, Flying Fish, Wakeboard, Waterski, Jetski, Glassbottom and Turtle Island, Seawalker, Parasailing, Banana Boat, Snorkeling, Fishing, Dolphin Tour, and we can also rent the speedboat. There were some of our friends and a lecture tried Parasailing and Banana Boat, ten of our friends went to Turtle Island, and the rest stayed at the beach. They were just took some pictures with the others and enjoyed the show (Water sport).
Dreamland beach was our second destination on the first day in Bali. We arrived at 2 p.m after had lunch in bus during the trip from Tanjung Benoa to Dreamland beach. It takes place at Pecatu, the location itself is in the south Bali Island, nearby GWK. Based on the information I’ve got, there are many people say that this beach is “The Next Kuta Beach” because it has the same posh scenery as Kuta beach, this beach more beauty than Kuta beach which has less tourist than Kuta beach. There are rock-formation and big coral which surrounding the beach. It also has white sand and beautiful waves, which make this beach more beauty. This unique scenery is the fascination, especially for surfers, they can swim in clear water, enjoying the sunset and the scenery with beautiful waves itself beside surfing only. Those posh can be seen nearby mouth of beach.
Unfortunately, we cannot do many things there unless enjoying the scenery because of the weather, the sun shone so brightly. We went down to the beach, just took some pictures of us and the beach definitely, walking around the beach for a while and then back to canteen to take a rest and got some water. After that, we leaved the beach at 2 p.m. for the next destination.
The first day we were in Balwewe visited Kuta beach in he afternoon after we visited Tanjung Benoa beach about 1 PM. The streets to Kuta beach are very crowded, especially it was nearly the sun set. Our friend and we went to Kuta beach by public transportation it was about 5 o’clock PM, we are very lucky we could see the sunset, of course taking pictures will be an obligatory thing to do. We played sand until the dark came. Kuta is an obligatory place to visit. Go to Balwewithout visit Kuta beach like life without air. Actually Kuta beach as same as the other beach, but what is make it famous because it is the centre place, Luxury resorts, restaurants, and clubs are located along the beach. Kuta beach is also known as Sunset Beach, as opposed to the Sunrise Beach, another name for Sanur Beach. We enjoyed the scenery, we hope can visit it again next time.
Tanah Lot is a coastal temple in, Tabanan, South Bali. It takes 45 minutes from our last destination from Bedugul. We got there at 5 p.m. right before the sunset. This is our favorite destination and our last destination as well because what we can see everywhere is the beautiful scenery. That was our lucky day because we can see so many Hindus gathering in Tanah Lot to pray in the Pura. It is so crowded that all we can see everywhere were people with Balinese traditional outfits brought their sesajen and dupa. They were queuing to go up there, to the Pure of Tanah Lot. The well-known Pura Tanah Lot is the cultural icon for photography and general exoticism of Bali. The temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. The waves are quite huge not like in Kuta. The sunset is so beautiful. At the base of the rocky island, poisonous sea snakes that was called “Holy Snake” are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. We also can buy some souvenirs with quite low-price there. To enter this place, we need to pay Rp. 30.000. It was so sad because Tanah Lot ended our trip in Bali. Finally, we left Tanah Lot and headed to Jember at 6 p.m.
